Australian PM Anthony Albanese wins re-election

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s centre-left Labor Party has won the federal election, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Early vote counting in the country’s general election suggests Mr Albanese’s party is likely to be returned for a second term.
The broadcaster, known as ABC, also projected opposition leader Peter Dutton, head of the Liberal Party, will lose his seat of Dickson in Brisbane to the Labor candidate.
Cost-of-living pressures and concerns about US President Donald Trump’s volatile policies had been among the top issues on voters’ minds.
