According to COVID19 Vaccine rollout tracking, So far over 14.8 million first doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka. About 60% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with two dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Nearly 70% of the total population in Sri Lanka have been administered with at least 1 dose.
As of now about 87% of the country’s population above the age 20 has received the 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Over 12.9 million second doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in Sri Lanka.
Health Officials say that approximately 100% of the country’s population over the age of 30 years has been vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
Pfizer vaccine will be administered to all those over 20 years as a Third Dose in Sri Lanka. Government to purchase 14.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccines to administer as the 3rd dose.
Administering of the Pfizer vaccine for students who are sitting for the A/L Examination and those who have sat once before, commenced in all education Zones islandwide from October 21.
