In this Examination, Non programmable calculators are allowed for the subjects Accounting, Bio Systems Technology, Engineering Technology and Science for Technology. However using calculator is not allowed for any other subjects. Use of correcting fluid, Mobile Phones and Electronic devices for any subject is not allowed, and it is a punishable offence even to bring them into the examination hall.

Examination Department says that the Advanced Level examination will be held from January 23 until February 17. G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination for the year 2022, which was scheduled for August, has been postponed to October and later to November, and again in December due to the closure of schools and the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Examination Commissioner General says that the Advanced Level examination will be held from December 5 to 2023 January 2. G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination for the year 2022, which was scheduled for August, has been postponed to October and later to November due to the closure of schools and the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

The examination department has NOT yet released the exam dates and timetable for the 2022 A/L Exam. The time table will release to examination department official www.doenets.lk website in the future.
With the 3rd COVID wave in Sri Lanka which started mid April last year, Sri Lanka closed all schools and restricted government offices’ staff, imposed lock-downs, introduced Work From Home WFH and imposed month-long travel restrictions. Also school teachers started a strike action last July month. Those development impact to the A/L students and whole education system. Due to these developments 2021 A/L exam was delayed and hold this year February month.
Normally G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination is scheduled for August month.

The Cabinet has approved to the revised schedule for the Grade 5 Scholarship, Advanced Level and Ordinary Level examinations for the year 2021.
• General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level)- February 7, 2022 to March 5, 2022
• General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) – May 23, 2022 to June 1, 2022
• Grade 5 Scholarship Examination – January 22, 2022

Accordingly, the examination is set to take place between 2022 February 7 and March 5.
