Two more assistant health workers attached to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Mulleriyawa have been arrested over the death of a patient at the institute recently, Police said.

They said the suspects were arrested by the Mulleriyawa Police.

Earlier, police arrested two assistant health workers over the death of a 48-year-old patient, a resident of Watareka.

According to reports, the health workers had allegedly assaulted the patient, who was said to have suffered from bipolar disorder.

The four arrested suspects are to be produced before the courts today.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau of the Nugegoda Division.
