A jetty at the Trincomalee Navy Camp collapsed, leading to the injury of 14 school children who were on an educational tour. The incident took place today evening as the group of students from Galgamuwa was exploring the navy camp’s facilities.
The injured children are currently receiving medical attention at both the Navy Hospital and the Trincomalee Hospital. Hospital sources have indicated that the injuries sustained by the students are not severe. The accident occurred in an area where the water is reported to be quite shallow.
