Visit of Maldive fish production centres, proposed maldive fish processing, value addition and sales centre and proposed site for the establishment of public marine aquarium. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Norway, Iceland and Finland Godfrey Cooray was invited by Director General of the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA)  

Dr. H.M.P.Kithsiri to visit the maldive fish production sites and the proposed site for the maldive fish processing, value addition and sales centre at Kottegoda, Matara. During the visit, he stated that the maldive fish production technology should be improved. Further mentioned that Norway and Iceland have well developed smoke fish production technology and the arrangements will be made to provide technical assistance from Tromso University and other possible Universities in Norway, Finland and Iceland to improve especially the smoke fish production technology.  

Director General Dr. H.M.P. Kithsiri, Director Monitoring and Evaluation A.B.A.K. Gunaratne, Principal Scientist Sujeewa Ariyawansa and other scientists from NARA and Deputy Director Urban Development Authority District office Matara K.G. Kalyani Indica, and Enforcement Planner UDA, Matara Anoma Priyanthi participated with Ambassador. He also visited the proposed site for the establishment of public marine aquarium at Matara Beach Park.
