At least 14 persons have died, 2 missing, 2 injured and over 245,212 people have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in several parts of Sri Lanka. According to DMC report, 14 houses are fully damaged, and 817 houses are partially damaged due to bad weather. 15,658 people displaced. 10 districts and 84 DS divisions were affected.

Significant rainfall has been received in many parts of the island during the last 48 hours and the Kalu, Kelani, Nilwala, Gin, Attanagalu Oya Mahaweli and Maha Oya rivers are overflowing and the Irrigation Department has issued flood warnings. Certain low-lying areas are inundated, minor and major floods, and several incidents of earth slips have also been reported. Four spill gates opened in Polgolla reservoir and one spill gate in Laxapana Reservoir also opened. DMC requested to people living in downstream be vigilant.

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings for Colombo, Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Galle, Nuwara Eliyaa and Matara districts. The National Building Research Organization has requested the people living in high-risk areas to move to safer areas.
