In a surprising turn of events, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has sent a letter removing Roshan Ranasinghe from his ministerial and other posts with immediate effect. According to the reports, Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has been stripped of all his ministerial portfolios. He was the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and Minister of Irrigation.
During a session at the Parliament, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe shocked both lawmakers and the public by asserting that he faced imminent threats to his life. In a bold and unprecedented move, he pointed fingers at President and Sagala Ratnayake and other unnamed individuals, stating that they should be held responsible if anything were to happen to him.
In a pivotal move, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe established an interim committee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), appointing Arjuna Ranatunga. This decision marked the inception of a series of challenges. Subsequently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) took a drastic step, suspending Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
