Journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara arrested

Police arrested journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara while he covering a trade union protest in Borella area according to Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka. He is due to appear before court magistrate on July 29 Saturday.

Committee to Protect Journalists CPJ demands Sri Lankan authorities to immediately and unconditionally release journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara and investigate allegations that he was beaten by police.
