The Sri Lanka Police have implemented a special security plan nationwide in anticipation of the upcoming festive season.
Accordingly, two special circulars have been issued in this regard by the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deshabandu Tennakoon.
Speaking about the measures taken, Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa explained that plainclothes police officers will be stationed at locations where the public is most likely to gather.
Meanwhile, a special train and bus service is scheduled to commence from Friday (22 Dec.), in view of the holiday season.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) explained that a fleet of 100 buses are set to be deployed for all long-distance journeys from today.
