About 1023 coronavirus related deaths have been reported in Sri Lanka last 11 days. Sri Lanka reported 124 covid deaths for August 10, the highest single day.
Among the dead majority were males. Out of the 5464 deaths, 3179 are male while 2285 are females. Among the 5464 deaths, the majority of the deaths are of the people in the over 60 years of age group.
About 75% percent deaths are above age 60 years group. 23.5 percent are 30-59 and 1.14% are below the age of 30.
According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began last March has now risen to 5464.
