Minister of Health Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella stated that due to the commitment of many sectors including the health sector, the COVID19 pandemic situation has been brought under control to some extent and the maximum public support is expected from October 1 when the country is opened to further control it.

If all those who have made sacrifices for this are appreciated, the maximum value that can be given to that appreciation is the support given by the people by properly following the health guidelines, the Minister said.

“It simply came to our notice then that the whole world was in trouble with the COVID. We as a country had to make a number of decisions on a scientific basis. Not all of those decisions are in the sweet spot. Sometimes we even have to deal with unpleasant situations. As a country we have to deal with business, the daily lives of the common people as well as their sources of income. As a country, we have to face the problems associated with the economic pace as well as the pace. We are still facing it at the moment. Many decisions have had to be made at various times in the past to control this, largely by giving maximum space to health advice.
