Four policemen were arrested after surrendering to the Kottawa police station in connection with an incident of looting a necklace and a mobile phone from a three-wheeler.
The Nugegoda District (ii) Superintendent of Police has suspended the duties of four arrested police officers from work with immediate effect.
Among the arrested police officers are a Police Sergeant at Malabe police station, two Police Constable and a Police Constable at the police Special Task Force.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Homagama Magistrate’s Court today and further investigations are being carried out by the Kottawa Police Station.
