The Second Session of the Ninth Parliament is scheduled to be inaugurated under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on January 18, 2022. Statement of Government Policy scheduled to be presented by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says the Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake.
The Secretary General of Parliament stated that the Adjournment debate on the Statement of Government Policy scheduled to be
presented by President, will be held on January 19th and 20th. Accordingly, the Adjournment debate by the Government will be held on January 19 th from 1 pm to 6 pm and January 20th from 10am to 6 pm.
Parliament Sittings have been scheduled for January 21st at 10 am. Accordingly, the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines Bill, Judicature (Amendment) Bill and Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill is scheduled to be taken into debate until 4.30 Pm.
