Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority issued a clarification regarding the ‘COVID 19’ Protocol and Procedures for all inbound travellers released on 13th January 2023. 1. Accordingly the implementation of the program will be delayed till the 20th of January 2023.

The following clarifications are with regard to the ‘COVID 19’ Protocol and Procedures released by SLTDA on 13th January 2023;

1. Taking into consideration tourists who have already made travel arrangements to visit Sri Lanka, the implementation of the above will be deferred till the 20th of January 2023.

2. A review meeting with relevant authorities including health officials has been scheduled for the 17 of January 2023, after which a detailed guideline will be issued.

3. Any procedures which will be implemented will be reviewed at close intervals.

On January 13th, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority said that a new Covid-19 protocol and procedures will be issued for all inbound tourists to Sri Lanka. All inbound tourists to Sri Lanka are advised to possess a vaccination card and tourists who are not vaccinated, should submit a PCR report obtained 72 hours prior to arrival, according to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that Sri Lanka’s entry status quo remains UNCHANGED despite news alerts.
