Sri Lanka President in a letter to All Party leaders in the government has agreed on principle to form an “all party government” with the participation of all parties represented in Parliament and called a meeting on Friday to discuss the structure of the new government that is to be formed following the resignation of the current Prime Minister and Cabinet. The first round talks will start on Friday.
Recently, President in a letter to the Chief Prelates has stated that he agrees to form an interim government and to take immediate steps to resolve the economic crisis.
Minister Arundika Fernando said that a majority of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have informed President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa along with the Government should step down, allowing for the formation of an interim Government with the participation of all political parties.
