The Commissioner General of Examinations will make an announcement shortly regarding the proposals to postpone the Advanced Level Examinations scheduled for this year, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said today.
He said this in Parliament while responding to a question by SJB MP Rohini Kumari Kaviratne, who proposed to postpone the A/L examinations to January next year.
MP Kaviratne proposed that the A/L Examinations be held between January 22 next year to February 17, after rescheduling the third and first school terms to October this year and the first term to February 2024.
She said the A/L results could be released by May next year and added that next year’s A/L examinations could be held in October as usaul.
The Minister said the proposal has been referred to the Commissioner General of Examinations and he would make an announcement shortly.
