Weather Forecast for August 20 -23, Expect evening thunder showers

An enhancement of thunder showers in the evening is expected in North, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces from August 21.

Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Uva and Eastern provinces and in Mullaitivu and Vavuniya districts.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
