Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana announced that video recording of sessions and going live on social media will be prohibited.
“MPs who video record sessions and go live on social media will be severely dealt with,” he said after the chaos in Parliament this morning.
The Speaker announced his decisions when the sessions resumed. Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella said action should be taken against ruling party members immediately.
Premadasa was seen challenging the ruling party MPs for a physical confrontation.
However, Premadasa was allowed to raise his question when sessions resumed.
SJB MPs continuously wanted the Speaker to take action against MP Sanath Nishsantha while ruling party MPs wanted immidate action against MP Nalin Banadara for video recording.
State Minister Shehan Semasinghe requested the Speaker to convert Premadasa into a responsible leader of Opposition.
