Sri Lanka Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said that the primary objective of University students should be to finish their education as soon as possible and fulfill their responsibility to society.
Due to students overstaying in universities for more than 8 to 10 years without completing their studies, new students miss their opportunities to get a university education. The Minister requested the University Grants Commission UGC and Universities to take a joint decision regarding the number of opportunities given to university students to appear for free examinations.
