The Mahahoshadha Hospital and the first phase of the Wellness Centre were constructed under the guidance of Ven. Siri Samanthabhadra Thera Thera will be handed over to the government for public welfare tomorrow, the Government Information Department said.
They said the ceremony in this regard will be held at the Umandawa Maha Vihara Ashramaya, Kurunegala, tomorrow.
The Mahahoshadha Hospital and the Wellness Center were built under the instructions of Ven. Siri Samanthabhadra Thera was widely criticized by the Mahanayake and Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Chapter for making sermons distorting the Tripitaka and the Buddha’s character and the Health Ministry.
North Western Province Governor Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Transport and Highways Minister Bandula Gunawardane and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Roshan Ranasinghe will participate in the event.
