Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara says that Southern & Ella Tourism zone will be exempted from the 1 hour 20 minutes Night time Power cut from December 1st. All Tourism zones identified by the Ministry of Tourism, will be exempted from night power cuts from December 15.
Islandwide Power cut of 1 hour during the day & 1 Hour 20 minutes during the night will be continued until the December 15th.
With the scheduled addition of Unit 3 of Coal Plant to the Grid on 15th of Dec, all Tourism zones identified by the Ministry of Tourism, will be exempted from night power cuts & Islandwide night power cut will be reduced to 1 hour. No power cuts during Christmas & New Year.
