The T56 firearm stolen by protesters during the protest near Parliament on July 13 has been recovered.
On July 13, during the protest near Polduwa junction in the Welikada police area, an army officer who was on duty at the place was attacked by protesters and a T56 type firearm was stolen.
On July 23, Navy diving corps found the above looted firearm under the bridge near Rajagiriya Samanala Bridge towards the Parliament of Diyavanna Reservoir and handed it over to the Welikada Police Station. Welikada Police is conducting further investigations.
