A large stock of toffees and chocolates with expired date of use was seized by the Municipal Health Department authorities during a raid on a leading business establishment in Kandy.
Chief Municipal Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pasan Jayasinghe said the management of the business establishment had been selling these sweets after changing the expiry dates on wrappers and packets and that even the date of manufacture or the country of origin had not been indicated on the wrappers.
He said legal action would be taken against the business establishment.
