Sri Lanka’s inflation to hit 70% in coming months

Sri Lanka’s inflation may rise to 70% in the next few months says the Governor of Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.

The Central Bank points out that according to its forecasts, inflation may decrease significantly from the beginning of 2023 due to the current policies and procedures implemented. Dr. Weerasinghe said the major concern and priority, for the Central Bank is to arrest the rising inflation and bring it down to a reasonable level as soon as possible as the poor and the vulnerable will be hit the first and hardest.
