According to latest Central Bank indicators Sri Lanka Foreign Reserves dropped 24% to USD 2.3 Billion in January 2022 from USD 3.13 Billion in December 2021. Gold reserves were down to USD 92 million in January 2022 from USD 175 million in December.

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Reserves reached approximately USD 3.1 Billion in last year December.

In November, Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves dropped to USD 1.58 billion. When the government took office in November 2019, country’s foreign reserves were approximately US$ 7.5 billion.

According to a tweet from Parliamentarian Dr. Harsha De Silva, Sri Lanka’s usable reserves are mere USD 800 million, less than 3 weeks of imports.
