Sri Lanka Navy Seizes 45.5kg of Ice and 35.7kg of Heroin in Northern Coast Raid

JAFFNA, Sri Lanka — The Sri Lanka Navy has seized a large cache of narcotics during a special operation carried out at the Kusumanthurai beach area in Madagal early this morning (September 27).

According to the Navy Media Unit, personnel attached to SLNS Agbo under the Northern Naval Command conducted the pre-dawn operation, during which 45.5 kilograms of Ice (crystal methamphetamine) and 35.7 kilograms of heroin were seized.

One suspect was also apprehended during the operation, while a boat believed to have been used in the suspected drug-smuggling attempt was taken into naval custody.

The Navy is conducting further investigations into the seized narcotics and the suspected smuggling operation. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
