Social Media Activist Bruno Divakara arrested and later remanded

Update – Bruno Divakara, owner of SL-Vlogs arrested by CID for aiding & abetting Natasha Edirisooriya’s controversial comments on Buddhism, remanded till 07 June.

Social Media Activist Bruno Divakara arrested by Police CID after questioning for over 08 hours on Natasha Edirisooriya’s controversial comments on Buddhism. He is the owner of SL-Vlogs Youtube channel.

Recently police arrested Nathasha Edirisooriya, Sepala Amarasinghe and Ven. Rajangane Saddharathana thera.

Ven. Rajangane Saddharathana thera arrested by police in Anuradhapura for making statements that could disrupt religious harmony. Recently police arrested Nathasha Edirisooriya who made disrespectful remarks on the Buddhist philosophy and culture while attempting to leave the country.

Sepala Amarasinghe also arrested and later released on bails over complaints of making statement defaming the Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

Meanwhile, The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has issued an overseas travel ban against Pastor Jerome Fernando and to arrest him when he is arriving to Sri Lanka. A video related to a statement made by a Christian pastor named Jerome Fernando circulated on social media in recent days causing a great controversy in the country.
