In an official announcement, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha has revealed that the upcoming school term for 2024 will commence on 21st February. This decision marks an important step in the education sector, setting the stage for students, teachers, and parents to prepare for the new academic year.
The Education Ministry announced the school holidays and school conducting dates for the second and third terms for 2023.
The school holidays for the first phase of the second school term will be from August 18 to August 27 including the mentioned dates.
The second phase of the second school term will start on August 28 (Monday) and end on October 27 (Friday) including the mentioned dates.
The first phase of the third school term will start on October 30 and will continue till November 24. Meanwhile, the school holidays for the first phase of the third school term will start on November 25 and continue till December 31. The second phase for the third school term will start on January 1, 2024 and will continue till February 16.
