Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery Complex is expected to resume operations in the next few days.

The Minister said he discussed the matter with the officials of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Commercial Management and Refinery officials on Wednesday.

A Twitter message issued by the Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera further states that plans to import crude oil from next September to December & refinery operations were discussed there.

He said the CPC hopes to commence refinery operations this week to operate without any interruptions expecting a continuous supply of crude oil.
