Prima KottuMee Powers Historic All Blacks Under 85kg Rugby Tour in Sri Lanka
Colombo, Sri Lanka – 05 May 2025: Prima KottuMee, Sri Lanka’s iconic instant noodle brand known for its bold and fiery flavours, has partnered with Sri Lanka Rugby to host the historic tour of the New Zealand All Blacks Under 85kg Rugby Team — marking the first time an official All Blacks team has visited the country.
The landmark two-match tour kicked off on 4th May at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium in Kandy, where the All Blacks clinched a commanding 50-10 victory against the Sri Lankan Tuskers. The team will now head to Colombo for training sessions at Longdon Place ahead of their second clash with the Tuskers, scheduled for 10th May at the Racecourse Grounds.
Prima KottuMee joins the tour as the official Hot ‘N’ Spicy Food Partner, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to promoting rugby at all levels across Sri Lanka. The collaboration highlights Prima’s dedication not only to fuelling athletes but also to nurturing the local rugby ecosystem.
“This collaboration marks a historic moment for rugby in Sri Lanka. At Prima, we have always believed in fostering talent and creating opportunities for growth in the sport. It underscores our commitment to elevating rugby in the country. We are excited to see the impact this tour will have on the sport and our players,” said Mr. Sajith Gunaratne, General Manager of Ceylon Agro Industries, Prima Group Sri Lanka.
Beyond this tour, Prima KottuMee continues to be a key supporter of Sri Lankan rugby. The brand recently partnered with major tournaments including the Asia Rugby Emirates Men’s Championship 2025 vs Malaysia, the Inter-Club Rugby League 2025, and the Inter-Schools Knockout Rugby Tournament 2025.
With the All Blacks’ legacy and Prima KottuMee’s energetic support, the tour is expected to inspire a new generation of rugby fans and players in Sri Lanka, reinforcing the strong rugby ties between the two nations.
