Protesters decided to vacate Presidential Secretariat building that they have been occupying since July 9. They have decided to handover the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo to officials on July 22. On July 9, protesters occupied President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s presidential palace and office.
Earlier, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that forcibly occupying the President’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office under the guise of engaging in the people’s struggle (Aragalaya) is illegal. Legal action will be taken against such people.
