Due to the delay in releasing the results of the 2022 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination, will lead to a delay in holding the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

Addressing the media, he said the valuation of the answer scripts for the A/L examination had been delayed and due to this releasing the results would be delayed.

“The number of days taken to release the A/L exam results will cause a delay in holding the O/L exam. The O/L exam is scheduled to be held in May, but it will get delayed due to the number of days taken to release the results,” he said.

The examinations department needs at least a three-month gap between two examinations. Therefore, the ministry is looking forward to seeing if the exams can be held according to the scheduled dates, the minister said.
