President Ranil Wickremesinghe says he will be expected to make a full statement on March 22 in parliament on the IMF Executive Board approving Sri Lanka’s program under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and table the agreement on the same day.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in a special statement following the approval of the extended credit facility by the IMF Executive Board, emphasized that Sri Lanka is no longer deemed bankrupt by the world. He said the loan facility serves as an assurance from the international community that Sri Lanka has the capacity to restructure its debt and resume normal transactions.
