A paratrooper was injured and two others landed on a building when their parachutes failed to open properly during the Independence Day rehearsals being held at Galle Face Green.
Army Spokesman Major General K.A.N. Rasika Kumara said one paratrooper has been hospitalized, while efforts are underway to rescue the other two troopers.
