Norochcholai Power Plant’s 2nd Generator Restored and Reconnected to National Grid

The 2nd generator of the Norochcholai Power Plant, which had experienced an unexpected breakdown on August 8, has been successfully repaired and reconnected to the national grid. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) officially confirmed the restoration of the generator. The 2nd generator generates 270MW power for the national grid.

From the three power generation units at the plant, one is currently being shutdown to carry out maintenance work.
