The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the electricity sector regulator says that No request made yet by Ceylon Electricity Board CEB for power shedding today. “Electricity demand can be met today with available capacity” say the Janaka Ratnayake the Chairman of PUCSL.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka urges consumers and institutions to use electricity sparingly during this period and support the Ceylon Electricity Board and PUCSL.

Switch off air-conditioners wherever and whenever possible
Keep your AC temperature at moderate level (24 – 27 °C), Instead of 18 °C
Switch off street lights
Switch off signboards hoarding.
Use private generators where they are available
Change to LED bulbs
Use table fans instead of ceiling fans
Use energy saving appliances or devices
Switch off all electrical outlets when not in use
