Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara refuted claims that inferior quality diesel stock is being released to the market.
The Minister said something had been observed in the diesel stock and samples of the stock are still being tested.
He said the stock has not been released as reported and said the stock woud be rejected if the samples fail the quality tests.
The Minister said that LIOC, the shipping compnay and an independent investigation team have reached the port and samples are being tested now.
