Sri Lanka newly appointed Sports Minister Harin Fernando says that a decision has been taken to appoint a new Selection Committee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Speaking in Parliament today, the minister said that the new Cricket Selection Committee will be chaired by former Sri Lankan cricketer Upul Tharanga.
Recently President Ranil Wickremesinghe has sent a letter removing Roshan Ranasinghe from the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and Minister of Irrigation. Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe established an interim committee for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), appointing Arjuna Ranatunga. This decision marked the inception of a series of challenges. Subsequently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) took a drastic step, suspending Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
