President Ranil Wickremesinghe appointed Navin Dissanayake as the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province. He took his oath of office in the presence of President Ranil Wickramasinghe at the President’s Office this afternoon (13).

Mr. Navin Dissanayake, who spoke after the swearing in, said that President Ranil Wickramasinghe will contribute his best to the implementation of the programs and government policies implemented for the country.

He pointed out that although the country was in a very difficult situation in the past period, due to the right program of the President, there has been a positive transformation in the country today.

He mentioned that he would pay special attention to the education of children in Sabaragamuwa province and said that his aim is to implement the government’s policies with the blessings of all political party leaders.

Former Minister Navin Dissanayake will reportedly be appointed as a provincial Governor next week.

Deputy Chairman of the United National Party, Presidential Adviser Ruwan Wijewardene stated that the appointment will possibly be made by next Tuesday (June 13).

He made this remark while responding to a few questions raised by the reporters in Gampaha.
