President Ranil Wickremesinghe delivering a special statement, addressing the government’s efforts over the past nine months to revive Sri Lanka’s economy, said the country’s economy is gradually recovering from the crisis, thanks to correct policies including the collective efforts of the people.

President Wickremesinghe further said some groups are spreading false information about the government’s reform agenda, but it’s important to stay committed to economic reforms.

Outlining the government’s efforts to revive the country’s economy, President Wickremesinghe said these economic reforms will lead to decreased cost of living, improved standards of living, relief for the poor, and a culture of transparency.

President Wickremesinghe in his address to the nation said strict financial controls and cost-saving measures have led to positive outcomes, including reduced inflation and increased remittances & today, the country is reaping the rewards with inflation which had skyrocketed to 70% down to 25.2%, lightening the burden for all.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe stressed that he will not allow anyone to drag the country back to the state it was a year ago & his goal was to transform Sri Lanka into a developed country by 2048.

Country’s development has been based on Four Primary Pillars: Fiscal and Financial Reforms, Investment Drive, Social Protection & Governance, & State Owned Enterprises Transformation.
