According to police, so far over 3000 arrested over the May 9th unrest in Sri Lanka. Police spokesman says 3056 suspects arrested and out of them 1150 suspects remanded while nearly 1900 persons released on bail. Police so far received 857 complaints.

Anti-government protesters set on fire and damaged the residences and offices of at least 100 politicians, including over 70 parliamentarians. More than 80 vehicles including buses which transported pro-government protesters were either set on fire or damaged.

So far police arrested about 30 suspects over the Galle Face and Kollupitiya protest sites attack. So far police have been arrested over 30 suspects over the death of MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala during the unrest on 09 May. (LankaXpress.com)
