Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said he will face challenges instead of running away from responsibilities.
“I pledge that we will not run away from responsibilities. There was a time like that, but we will face the challenges and serve the people of this country,” he said.
The Minister added that he is ready to face the no-confidence motion against him in Parliament.
Earlier, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madumma Bandara said that his party has begun discussing the possibility of bringing a no-confidence motion against the incumbent Health Minister.
“We are discussing the move and no final decision has been made on the matter as yet,” he said.
Minister Rambukwella has been facing much criticism with regard to procuring of medicines and on the alleged scandals involved in the process. He has also been criticized for not taking action to prevent medical negligence.
