Despite the re-opening of the country on October 1, inter-Provincial travel restrictions will continue says Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 outbreak and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, reports Hiru News.

Sri Lanka government has decided to end island-wide Covid lockdown on October 1, government imposed the lockdown on August 20.

The quarantine curfew currently in force throughout Sri Lanka will be lifted at 4.00 am. October 01st, on the directive of the President, Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 outbreak and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said.

The restrictions and health guidelines to be followed after the quarantine curfew is lifted will be announced shortly by the Director General of Health Services.
