IMF Delegation to Conduct First Review of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility Arrangement in September

A team of experts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is to visit Colombo between September 14 and 27, 2023, to initiate the inaugural review of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement.

This significant development was confirmed by the IMF Spokesperson. The EFF arrangement, established earlier in the year, signifies the collaborative efforts between Sri Lanka and the IMF to implement comprehensive economic reforms aimed at enhancing the nation’s fiscal stability, promoting sustainable growth, and mitigating challenges brought forth by global economic uncertainties.

The review’s outcomes will play a significant role in determining the course of action for the subsequent phases of the EFF arrangement.
