Weligama Police has started an investigation based on information that a murder has been committed due to an assault on the head of a person in a house in Weligama area.
A husband was killed by an assault by the wife with a blunt instrument due to a dispute between a man and his wife on August 19 night. The husband came drunk and had an argument with his wife. The deceased was a 42 year old resident of Weligama area.
The suspect who committed the murder was arrested by the police while she was on the run. Weligama Police is conducting further investigations.
