A suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault of a local councilor and looting of money and pushed him into the Beira lake on May 9th.
A suspect who was wanted in connection with an incident where a group of people traveling in a bus in Kollupitiya area on May 9th, assaulted and injured a Pradeshiya Sabha member of Ambalangoda and robbed his wallet and then pushed him into the Beira lake, was arrested.
According to a complaint received by the Colombo Crime Division, the suspect was arrested on August 20 in the Wakanda Road area of the Kollupitiya.
The arrested suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Dematagoda.
