High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore Senarath Dissanayake presented Letters of Credence to  President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of the Republic of Singapore on 27 February 2024 at a ceremony held at the Istana, the official residence, and the office of the President. The ceremony commenced with the new High Commissioner receiving a guard of honor upon his arrival, followed by the formal presentation of credentials and a courtesy call on the President of Singapore. Senior officials of the President’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore were associated with the meeting.

High Commissioner Dissanayake conveyed warm greetings from President Ranil Wickremesinghe to the President of Singapore and reiterated the commitment of the Government of Sri Lanka to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

President  Shanmugaratnam warmly welcomed the new High Commissioner and thanked him for the greetings and best wishes of the President and the people of Sri Lanka. He extended his good wishes to the new High Commissioner for a successful tenure.

High Commissioner Dissanayake joined the Sri Lanka Foreign Service in 2000 and served as the Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prior to being appointed as the High Commissioner to Singapore. He also served as the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Australia and in different diplomatic assignments at Sri Lanka Missions in Geneva, Brussels, The Hague, Mumbai, and New Delhi. High Commissioner Dissanayake is an alumnus of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
