Health officials request the general public to consume more water, due to the hot weather condition prevailing these days. They further say that drinking less water could lead to dehydration easily and advised children, athletes and those who stay outdoors often to hydrate themselves.
Heat index, the temperature felt on human body is expected to increase up to ‘Caution’ level at some places in Eastern and North-Central provinces and in Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Hambantota districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.
