Update – 2021 Grade 05 Scholarship Exam postponed and will be held on November 14 Sunday. It was discussed at a meeting that it would not be fair to hold the examinations August due to the schools not being conducted and the syllabus not being covered properly. Hence Sri Lanka Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris said the 2021 Grade 05 Scholarship Exam postponed and will be held on November 14 Sunday.

It was decided NOT to conduct the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination in August 2021, according to Hiru News. Commissioner-General of Examinations Sanath B. Pujitha stated that this decision was taken during a discussion with the Minister of Education and other officials.
All the Provincial Directors were also involved in the discussion through Zoom Technology. It was discussed at the meeting that it would not be fair to hold the examinations next August due to the schools not being conducted and the syllabus not being covered properly.
Accordingly, the Commissioner-General further stated that the dates on which the exams will be held again are yet to be decided. The exam dates and the relevant timetable has not been released so far. The time table will release to examination department official website www.doenets.lk.
